Moolberry reinforces its responsible fashion and sustainable essence for World Environment Day
On the occasion of World Environment Day, which is celebrated every 5th June, Moolberry, the only brand in the world in the textile sector with the Issop seal of sustainability, reinforces its commitment to protecting the environment with measures aimed at making the textile industry a more environmentally respectful, responsible and ethical business.
The COVID- 19 pandemic, the forest fires in Brazil, California and Australia or the locust plague in the Horn of Africa are some of the recent events that have highlighted the fragility of our system and the importance of taking measures to minimize our vulnerability to similar situations in the future, serious consequences that human action on nature has provoked and the ways in which these in turn affect our societies.
This year's World Environment Day is being celebrated in an environment where the Council of Ministers in Spain has just given the go-ahead to the draft law on waste. There are six productive sectors that will have to start the ecological transition immediately: construction, agri-food, fisheries and forestry, industry, consumer goods, tourism, and textiles.
From now on, free water at the bar and goodbye to straws: this is what the waste law will be like, a new tax will be levied on non-reusable plastic packaging. The aim is none other than to penalize this type of container in order to encourage the use of reusable materials to avoid single-use products that represent a high environmental cost and also a high economic cost. This action aims to reduce plastic packaging by 15% by 2030.
From 2022, the bio-waste container will be mandatory for municipalities with more than 5,000 inhabitants. In addition, two new product collections will be established in 2025: textiles and used cooking oil. In 2021, limitations on the use of single-use plastics, such as cotton buds, plastic cutlery and plates, straws, cosmetic utensils, etc., will be established.
Moolberry keeps its natural philosophy more alive than ever with the most delicate garments for the summer
Summer is synonymous with light, joy, and color. Moolberry, the only fashion brand with the ISSOP seal for sustainability, knows this and that is why it is committed to the pastel color trend in its most desirable garments. The sweetness of the softest tones is reflected in skirts, mini dresses, jumpsuits, and jumpers, coexisting with delicate prints that evoke nature in its purest state.
The Spanish fashion brand advocates this union of timelessness and trend, through garments designed to live forever in our wardrobes, basic designs that will become our favorites this summer 2020 season.
